Happy 4th of July! Just when we thought we could sleep in and maybe not be online all day….well, here we are. Old habits die hard or something. But hey, it’s a new trailer for a movie many of you are looking forward to anyway.
Empire has dropped a brand new trailer for Nicolas Winding Refn‘s “Only God Forgives,” and we’d call it more of a remix. It’s basically a similar edit to some of the trailers we’ve already seen, but with some rockin’ beatz now placed on top, kind of giving the entirely wrong impression of the tone of the movie. (Though the song, “2020” by Suuns is pretty ace). This is an orchestrated, specific and slow, slow burn of a movie, with Ryan Gosling starring but barely saying a word. But for those willing to go with Refn, it’s definitely unlike anything else you’ll see this year.
“Only God Forgives” wants to fight in the U.S. on July 19th and in the U.K. on August 2nd. Watch below.
