2024 is officially upon us, and over at HBO, it’s time to start the 25th anniversary celebration of the iconic series, “The Sopranos.” Sure, there’s going to be new exclusive content coming to Max that will feature cast members reminiscing about the good ol’ days. But perhaps most interesting, and somewhat silly, is the way HBO is promoting the big milestone over on TikTok.

According to HBO, fans of “The Sopranos” can celebrate the series turning 25 over on the social media site, TikTok, where the network will share 25-second recaps of every single episode of the drama series. So, if you’re a mega fan of the show and need a quick injection of Tony Soprano and his family in your eyeholes, Tiktok has you covered. Or, you know, if you’re just too busy to watch hour-long episodes but want to get the ‘Sopranos’ in-jokes that your friends are constantly sharing 25 years after the premiere episode, then you can do a much quicker binge on your phone.
“’The Sopranos’ left an indelible imprint on the global entertainment culture and was instrumental in defining HBO as the destination for groundbreaking, award-winning programming,” said Zach Enterlin, Executive Vice President, Brand, Content & Creative, Streaming Marketing, HBO and Max. “The many ways we will honor this 25-year milestone will allow fans to celebrate the Soprano legacy and pay tribute to the characters that have had such an enduring impact.”
In addition to the TikTok campaign, HBO is releasing deleted scenes and there will actually be restaurant pop-ups that are “Sopranos” themed for fans. In addition, there will be fan screenings at Alamo Drafthouse locations, as well as increased free access to episodes for those who aren’t Max subscribers.
All told, there will be plenty of opportunities for people to show their love of “The Sopranos” over the next month or so. But will we ever get a sequel series or another prequel? That still is unknown.
