It has taken years to make, but it appears that Tom Clancy’s “Rainbow Six” is finally moving toward production as a feature film. With the prequel, “Without Remorse,” doing seemingly good business for Paramount and Amazon when it was released in 2021, the sequel film not only sees the return of Michael B. Jordan as John Clark, a counterterrorism expert and overall badass, but it also serves as filmmaker Chad Stahelski’s introduction into the Clancyverse franchise.

Forget Jack Ryan. Alec Baldwin tried to make him cool in 1990. Harrison Ford did his best in ’92 and ‘94. Then Ben Affleck dropped a turd in 2002. And does anyone even remember Chris Pine’s attempt in 2014? The jury’s still out on John Krasinski’s recently-released Amazon show, but overall, Hollywood has really failed to fully realize the famous Tom Clancy character.

For many years, Hollywood has been trying to figure how to crack Tom Clancy‘s “Rainbow Six” for the big screen. Of course, the author has seen great success with his Jack Ryan character, so it’s only natural that studio executives want to exploit his other work. However, “Rainbow Six” has been very slow going. Many, many years ago, John Woo was attached to direct an adaptation, but it never went anywhere and things have been pretty quiet around the project since, but a new A-list star has reignited chatter.
