Factoids straight in from the “things we’ll try and care about at some point” section of the internet: “Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides 3D” will boast, in addition to a horribly cumbersome title, a whole load of CG and Johnny Depp in glorious 3D SwaggerVision, a reprise by Keith Richards in his role as Jack Sparrow’s dad.

This nugget was buried in a Reuters article in Yahoo’s entertainment section, which was actually about Richards’ new autobiography that, from the sounds of it, you’d be advised to spend your time at home reading rather than suffering through “POTC4: OST3D”; in it he apparently details his long and sometimes troubled history with Jagger (aka Your Majesty, Brenda), includes anecdotes about famous types like John Lennon, and generally bars no holds in telling of his, by any standards, pretty exciting life.

The gestating film adaptation of 1960’s gothic television soap opera “Dark Shadows” finally has a start date” and will go in front of cameras in January with Tim Burton directing with his longtime collaborator Johnny Depp in front of camera as vampire Barnabas Collins.

Keith Richards Returning For ‘On Stranger Tides’?

Rumors are beginning to circulate that Keith Richards is set to reteam with his new BFF Johnny Depp on the next installment of the “Pirates Of The Caribbean” franchise, “On Stranger Tides.”

The rocker was cited as an inspiration for Depp’s loony Jack Sparrow and made an appearance in “At World’s End” as Jack Sparrow’s father. If he returns, he would reprise his role as Captain Teague and star alongside the previously announced Penelope Cruz, Ian McShane and Geoffrey Rush.

In an interview with the actor and director Tim Burton on Jonathan Ross BBC America program, Johnny Depp discussed his upcoming Keith Richards documentary that will serve as his first directorial effort since 1997’s “The Brave.”

“It’s a thing we’ve talked about for a number of years now,” Depp explains to Ross. “We finally had a moment, the two of us, to get together and do like a first installment if you will.

You’ll remember earlier this week eagle-eye’d Playlist scribe Simon Dang was the first to notice reports from Serbia where Johnny Depp revealed he would be directing a documentary on his old Rolling Stones buddy, Keith Richards, a rocker who he famously, affectionately parroted for his role in “Pirates Of the Caribbean.”

Variety now chimes in and says that Depp will start working on the film next week. But what does that mean exactly?

Johnny Depp Will Have To Learn Spanish For Pancho Villa Biopic

Speaking to Screen Daily, director Emir Kusturica briefly discussed his forthcoming Pancho Villa biopic, “Wild Roses, Tender Roses” that will star Johnny Depp and Salma Hayek. As we previously reported, the film will be shot entirely in Spanish and the director confirms that both he and Depp will have to learn the language. “…Johnny (Depp) and myself have to learn Spanish. I don’t know how to direct Spanish people speaking English.”

Both director and star will plenty of time to study as the film isn’t set to go in front of cameras until 2011.

Johnny Depp To Direct Keith Richards Documentary

Johnny Depp is reportedly set to to return to directing with a documentary on his Jack Sparrow inspiration, The Rolling Stone’s guitarist Keith Richards.

Richards ended up playing Depp’s father in the “Pirates Of The Carribean” franchise with their relationship now leading to the recent announcement by Depp of plans to once again go behind the camera for a documentary on the Rolling Stone.

“Now that I’m wiser, and that enough time has passed, I can experience directing again,” Depp explains to the European media.

Ok, this dubious Contact Music report is total bullshit, but man, imagine if it wasn’t?

Johnny Depp already almost got fired for playing his “Pirates Of the Caribbean” character as a gay and drunken Keith Richards, and his depiction of the Willy Wonka character in Tim Burton’s “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” was allegedly based on Michael Jackson.

So now apparently there’s talks of a Michael Jackson biopic with Depp in the lead.

Scorsese’s ‘Shine A Light’ Not Bad For An Overly Long Live Doc With Many Old People Close-Ups

While watching Martin Scorsese’s “Shine A Light” documentary/glorified live concert we realized the entire problem with the Boomer generation is one of viable sexuality. The thing that makes the Rolling Stones still touring so much more abhorrent than, say, The Who or Paul McCartney, is that a large portion of their greatest hits are about fucking.

Most of us have no desire to hear “Let’s Spend the Night Together” from a shirtless 65 year old man, even if he is in amazing shape.
