Get ready for a new “Paddington” adventure. The third installment, “Paddington In Peru” sees director Dougal Wilson taking over for “Paddington” and “Paddington 2” helmer Paul King. The latter isn’t entirely stepping away from the beloved franchise, crafting the film’s story with Simon Farnaby and Mark Burton and staying on board as an executive producer.
“We’ve tried to keep as much of the feeling, heart and fun of the other ‘Paddington’ films, but also re-introduce fans to Paddington’s home country, Peru, which turns out to be a great place for him and the Browns to have an amazing adventure lost in the jungle,” Wilson, told People this week.

The project features a cast of returning favorites and newcomers to the film series. Ben Whishaw again voices the loveable Paddington. Hugh Bonneville returns as Brown family patriarch Henry, while Madeleine Harris and Samuel Joslin reprise their roles of Brown children Judy and Jonathan, respectively. Not everything stays the same, though, as Emily Mortimer steps in to portray Mary Brown, a part previously played by Sally Hawkins. The film also features Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Imelda Staunton, and Carla Tous, with Olivia Colman and Antonio Banderas making appearances.
“Watching brand new characters being created by Antonio and Olivia Colman was both an education and a delight to behold,” Bonneville, told People about working with Banderas and Colman for the new movie. “They were playful to the point of barking mad.”
The film’s official synopsis:
