This movie looks pretty cool (may be biased because I love gore/action/badass films) and seems pretty out there like Sucker Punch which was Directed/Written/Produced. Although it may not be for everyone I think it will be one awesome film.

I don't know anything about the character, and have no intention to ever see this movie.

But do we really need a Judge Dredd movie to be possessed of "deeper substance to make its experience remotely meaningful"? If you've bought your ticket, you are probably not a person in search of substance, at least for the next couple of hours.
