Wow, those are subversive words from Trank, there\'s something really weird about the comfort mass audiences get from seeing the same stories over and over again, the way they cling to it, and will fight to the death with anyone who dares to interrupt or criticize the flow of repetition. Whatever the psychological term for the syndrome is, it can\'t be healthy.

"You can’t just keep telling it the same way over and over again." But you can, and you will, because the only stories Hollywood is interested in telling and retelling are the ones that have already been told before. Casting controversy aside, do we really need *another* superhero origin story for characters we\'re already familiar with? Someone apparently thinks so \'cause we\'re getting yet another Spider-Man reboot in the near future. Hey, Hollywood, we get it–Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive/mutant/whatever spider. But by all means, let\'s show him get bitten again, only this time it\'ll be a spider nanobots, or whatever other dumb twist you want to put on it.

But I digress...

All the \'controversy\' around changing the races of existing characters would\'ve never occurred if these weren\'t existing characters. Here\'s an idea: Make something new. I know I\'m not the only one who\'d much rather see a movie about characters that are new to me than *another* movie about established superheroes I\'m already aware of. I understand that seems risky to most of the suits in Tinseltown. But that\'s only because they\'re forgetting about The Incredibles, which was incredibly successful despite not being about superheroes we\'d never seen before AND not being an origin story. Hell, look at Mad Max: Fury Road. Sure, it\'s a Mad Max movie. But did you notice how captivated audiences have been by Furiosa? Guess what–That character never existed before.

Seriously, in a few years, going to a theater will mean choosing between which Marvel, DC or Star Wars movie you want to see.

I like how they\'re making it all about race or body type (because those are the go to issues, right?) when those are quite possibly the least problematic things about this film. Just forget about altering Mister Fantastic\'s abilities so that he\'s basically a cosmic illusionist (who would want to deal with a man who stretches himself thin both metaphorically and physically when we can just have him make everyone else think he\'s rubbery?), who needs any sort of levity when you can go all grimdark because it seemed to work so well for DC and their third Superman reboot? Trank and Kinberg are ostriches with their heads in the sand.
