At least that\’s the vibe I got. I just had to assume he made them adopt Raven and blah, blah blah.
Other than that, I completely agree with this article. Good write-up.

But especially the missed opportunites for historical social issues and the horrible enslavement edit, oh my gawd that awful. zoe is african american as well but he was singled out because of his deeper complexion. The only thing you missed is the over sentimentality and the literal explanations of all the implied feelings and most of those lines went to jennifer lawrence who delivered them terribly. she was the weakest link by far. The character was made out to be too needy and pathetic. Her baby fat did not translate well into her mutant form (although i\’m sure she was cast because of that to make the character seem really young) that is harsh but true. january was more tolerable than jennifer.

Azazel dropping the agents was cool, but for the entire action sequence we watch nobodies die, while the main cast stands around making surprised faces…..seemed like a missed opportunity to flesh out the kids powers and characters a bit more (at all?)
