@anon, read some of the more recent stories. Basically the film is two parts. A drama with Pitt and Penn and a sort of wildlife documentary on the history of earth that will basically span from the creation of the earth to the dawn of man.

That's where the dinosaurs will be, so one is like watching a history or discovery-like doc on planet earth and the other is a drama.

How they will connect -- if at all -- is anyone's guess.

Wow, that does sound a tad, uh, strange, although I can think of one possible sane scenario, given the other info; it very well could be something like a fantasy or dream sequence from the perspective of a little boy...

I would get excited for this film, but then i remember The New World. Which makes me wonder if Colin Farrell isn't somthing of a bad luck charm. A great director made a boring film with him there, and then Michael Mann made the crapfest Miami Vice with him and Oliver Stone made Alexander. Note to directors...if u want an epic, don't cast him.

i was under the impression that sean penn was an older jack so since jack is a kid at points in the film and a brother of three and in the pix of brad pitt there are his kids so i assume one of them is jack so that would make brad pitt sean penn's father from the past not the other way around.

Good call about The Fountain comparison...sounds very similar. I'm guessing the "fountain of youth" idea is employed here too. But the words "Malick in IMAX" made me cream my jeans.
