The Gist: Doing his best “Match Point” (i.e. serious films that don’t suck), Woody Allen returns to the thriller genre with Ewan McGregor and Colin Farrell as brothers caught in a gambling quagmire that turns deadly.
In Summary: It’s been done a million times, maybe even by Allen himself, but we’ll take this over “Scoop” any day. It also looks pretty similar to Sidney Lumet’s upcoming brothers make a-deal-with-the devil they regret, “Before The Devil Knows Your Dead.“
