This slagging off the prequel trilogy is so ridiculous. It's not like the original trilogy is up there with Citizen Kane in terms of quality. You wouldn't hold these movies in such high regard, hadn't you first seen them as kids, instead as cynical and jaded grown ups like you've seen the prequel trilogy. Don't get me Wrong. Episode 1 is a bit tedious, but Episode 2 and 3 are great Star Wars movies, richer in what is going on and what is to see than all of the original movies combined. And don't get me wrong, I do love the original trilogy.

What do you think? Do you honestly believe Disney rolling out shit Star Wars films every 2-3 years until the end of time bodes well for Star Wars? Of course not. They're going to run it into the ground until there is no money or interest left in the name Star Wars. You'd sooner get blood from a stone than money from Star Wars, after Disney is done with it.

I think that plugging the Star Wars franchise into the modern Hollywood process of making films will result in a wash. It's going to leave us wishing for the derided George Lucas eccentricities of the prequels. Get ready for a lot of loud sounds and CGI mass destruction…

Either I am losing it but what I have heard from Lucas on youtube with Kathleen Kennedy and what else gets reported by Iger in the press release is that the 7-9 Trilogy story "treatment" was already seemingly "in the can" by Lucas. Even Ewan Macgregor recently tweeted said that Lucas always envisioned a 9 film story. I am just finding this little bit fascinating since it seemed in denial for so long…..

Does anyone proofread these posts/articles? I love this site, and read it daily, but this isn't the first time a posting has been rendered confusing by errors some basic copyediting would catch:

-Edgar Wright is incorrectly/confusingly listed with those who have already directed a Marvel movie, instead of with those attached to upcoming releases (he's attached to 2015's Ant-Man).

-"…and comedy directors Anthony and Joe Russo (âYou, And Me And Dupreeâ tackling "Captain America: The Winter Soldier")." [Movie title is incorrect; furthermore, the movie itself is not tackling "Captain America," Anthony and Joe Russo are.]

-"…viewing it as a still a pristine diamond investment." [?]

I suspect there will be an amazing amount of Thrawn Trilogy interest from around the world. I'd love to see those books made into the next series. I understand there would need to be some rewriting or recasting; details, really. Heir to the Empire is episode VII in my head. Thank you Timothy Zahn.

In truth Im just hoping to see the unaltered Star Wars trilogy. It's all I've known, or care about interms of the Star Wars cannon and would love to see it properly restored in a high definition format much like early Bond films. Otherwise I could really care less for the merger. The "brand" is already too oversaturated and really doesn't hold the same appeal post Prequels as it did before Lucas opened the flood gates. But despite what old fogey Gen X'ers likemyself think, Disney is hedging its bet on the current generation who think the Prequels are the "Original" trilogy and have their parents money to support their claim.
