I shudder to think how the epic story The Stand will be butchered to suit a cinematic-length release.

@Benjamin I think if they offered him Superman, they\’d offer him anything. Also, The Town was originally a $110 million movie directed by Adrian Lynne and Affleck came in and got it made for $37 million, plus it was a commercial, critical and awards season (not as much, but one Oscar nom) hit, which few directors can pull off. Plus, he\’s Ben Affleck and he\’ll get them a lot more press than David Yates. PLUS, if you ran a studio, wouldn\’t you rather hang out with Ben Affleck than David Yates? Plus, Yates did a fatastic job with the Harry Potter films, but he\’s still a guy who\’s directed a bunch of Harry Potter films and a bunch of TV stuff, and also, yeah, The Tichborne Claimant, which we all loved.

Okay, what the FUCK? Is it something on Yates\’ end? Did he drop the project? Because I can\’t see why WB would drop the man behind four of the biggest movies ever for Affleck.
