That image of Whedon holding the Cornetto in solidarity will no doubt lead to some fanboy rumor that he'll be lobbying to get Wright back on board.

He should but when it comes down to it, I doubt any Disney exec bats an eye if an uprising happens in the Marvel film talent pool.

The character is such a marginal one as far as name recognition and popularity amongst your average punter that this movie will succeed on merit largely. Thor managed to pull it off but this one is a bigger task.
