Someone probably heard there is a scene in Prometheus with old Weyland explaining things to the ship's crew on screen and they decided that it must be Lance Henriksen (who played character named Weyland in one of the AvP movies) and that started a rumour. While really in that scene from Prometheus it's Guy Pearce playing Weyland.
