I\’ve been following this film since it was announced. OD test screening was held last December.So I\’m sure at that moment,they exactly knew what they got.I think actually this is good move. Summer june/july session is filled with summer blockbuster popcorn flicks.In a couple of years both .\”Eat Pray Love\” and \”The Time Traveler\’s Wife\”　were released in mid-August and scored good boxoffice numbers.(\’m sure OD will get more better reviews than both films).

I think OD has broad appeal,so I\’m not surprised film getting wide release.It\’s right decision.I expect film would be good romantic drama with warmth and heart.And I just hope film brings Jim Sturgess a lot of attentions which he totally deserves.

I am most intrigued by \”Super 8\” if for no other reason than the trailer doesn\’t make me think I\’ve seen the whole movie. I am a little concerned that three pictures into his feature career, Abrams has done a sequel, a reboot, and an homage to another director. I\’m still waiting for an actual JJ Abrams film, which I am pretty sure will be awesome when he finally gets around to it.

The comic book movies will open within expectations and drop off quickly but there isn\’t a \”Dark Knight\” in the bunch. I am a little dubious about \”Captain America\” — it just looks completely out of sync with our current national culture. And watching a superhero wave around the red, white, and blue for a jingoistic, self centered, puffed up empire really doesn\’t sound like a night of ripping good fun in most countries. So there goes the overseas market.

I think Super 8 will be great. I dont care if I think of ET when I look at it. It looks great. 🙂 🙂 Star Trek was great!

I am a super harry potter nerd so I am excited about the last film. Though I am sad its ending. 🙂

I agree with the notion that Super8 is \”original\” only by technicality (no credited adaptation). It\’s Close Encounters 2011. I really want to see it, but I don\’t equate it with \”Inception\”, as far as original summer blockbuster fare. J.J. makes really fun movies, but he hasn\’t proved himself to be a super singular voice yet. I hope he does, but for now, Super8 is pure nostalgia, for me.

(and is Kyle Chandler really a \”hell of a star\”?)

I don\’t think Johnny Yung Bosch is in 30 Minutes or Less. Look at his IMDB page; he\’s linked to some movies he probably isn\’t in. I noticed a while back since he showed up on both Liberace\’s page and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.

How is Super 8 original when it\’s Abrams aping Spielberg? The guy can\’t do anything original. Mission Impossible, Star Trek and now 80s Amblin flicks. And how did Star Trek have good action? Jesus.

Saw a trailer for Cars 2 the other day. Looks SPECTACULARLY awful. Absolutely no redeeming features. Nails on a chalkboard bad.
