I totally disagree regarding "Needful things". This is quite good and very nasty fun and Max von Sydow is a great sardonic villain. It plays more like a very dark comedy than the horror most viewers may have expected. To me this is a little underrated gem surrounded by lots of bad King adaptations. And an IMDB-rating of 6.2 isn´t that bad….

I\’m not a big Mel Gibson fan these days but you guys seriously underrated his directorial debut. Nick Stahl is wonderful as the kid. I\’m not sure where the reactionary charge comes from, except to say the lefty professor character played by Richard Masur isn\’t exactly an off-base caricature. Terrifically moving coming-of-age tale, and maybe the only movie Mel will ever make that isn\’t a violent revenge fantasy?

I think Cliffhanger deserves a bit better than 26th! It\’s an action classic and is easily top 15. Remember when Stallone shoots through the ice? Amazing!

Menace II Society is weak. Has a few good moments, but it deserves its rep as warmed over Boyz in the Hood. The best scene is the first and it\’s all downhill from there. Glad to see that the Playlist is willing to recognize a good Woody Allen pic — that is, as long as it was made prior to the turn of the century

Some decent choices, but I can\’t believe "The Last Action Hero" is ranked higher than "Poetic Justice" or "What\’s Love Got To Do With It?" And, yes, "Jurassic Park" and "The Fugitive" are good, but not better than "Menace II Society."
