Paramount don't want two movies coming out on the same day not because it'll put a strain on their marketing team – it's because they'll, to a degree, cannabalize each other's audience.

Julie Delpy for Best SUPPORTING Actress? Did she have one fewer line of dialogue than Ethan Hawke? Really, that's a loco scenario.
Is there a director with a brain and/or some integrity who actually wants Harvey Weinsten to handle his movie's release? I don't know how much money he offers but whatever it is I wouldn't want the aggravation.

i think its odd that even if the movie is released january 1st, its out of the oscar race because its the next year. its also a little disappointing too especially for the movie that seem to have a chance of nominations.
