Nick's comment is hilarious.

The Hurt Locker may not have been Best picture caliber, but neither was Avatar. Avatar was truly one of the worst movies I've ever seen. It was impressive; it really was!! But it was a BAD movie, and for me, it really was not entertaining. I love you guys at Playlist, but talk some more trash about Cameron; he is a hack!

He has talent, but not in the directorial or screenwriter realm. He is a technical talent, something that is important to film, to be sure, but he is devoid of artistic talent, something that is just as important to film, if not more important, than technical talent.

Jim Cameron is just an insecure, egotistical jerk.

Unfortunately, his comments about The Hurt Locker are absolutely on the money. Cameron's just not the guy who should be saying it, since the "political" commentary in his movie was a total joke.

The Hurt Locker was a subpar war film. One that basically had the same scene done over and over and over, while all of the filler in between felt completely phony and forced. That one scene worked real well the first time but by the end of the movie it was all a bit tired. The movie was about an hour and a half too long.

Wonder how Del Toro responds to this because he's been making quality films for quite awhile now. I think he can make these type of decisions on his own. Avatar would've probably a bit more tolerable with him at the helm.

Cameron's advice to Guillermo sounded like good advice to me. It's like falling for girl that'll never be yours. Sometimes, you've just got to quench your desire and move on and maybe this was one of those times.
