That's kind of an interesting header photo. I know it's from the movie but most articles about Dark Knight Rises have an image of Batman.

Maybe it's also word of mouth that TDKR isn't THAT great? It has some superb technical credits (cinematography, special effects, sound design), but it just isn't as good or tightly crafted as TDK. The article's "zeitgeist" argument is bullshit, the mood in the country is just as dour if not more so than under Bush II (TDK premiered before the crash and everyone was still under the illusion that the economy was stable).

I second Jim's comment. It isn't doing anywhere near bad (not that you guys said that, but I know some people – including myself – need the reassurance). I feel really really bad for WB and Nolan (yes, even as they go marching to the banks with their $50 mil+ plus paycheck)… it seems like every one of these films in the trilogy is overshadowed by the controversy surrounding it. I can only hope people won't let that horrible terrible no-good piece of shit barely there human being who will not be named ruin this fantastic movie going experience.

U realize dark knight rises is only like 18 mil or so behind the dark knigh right now in domestic gross and that's with the shooting, the Olympics, and no joker.
