I hope your kidding because if not since I am an adult now your saying its time to grow up so I should stop liking Harry Potter even though I got into it when I was 13 right after 9/11 when I was very depressed.

I grew up with the books during that time period and was able to escape from the ugliness of the world around me. So fuck it now that I\’m an adult.

I enjoy the Harry Potter films not as much as the books but the films are still wonderful to me.

Some of my favorite films are The New World, Amelie, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, On the Waterfront, Lost in Translation, House of Flying Daggers, but God forbid I enjoy Harry Potter.

Oh and I happen to be a college-age adult who will see it again.

But yeah I should stop living in a fantasy world since its time to grow up.

Wow – what a condescending douche. I know it\’s so much easier to be a dismissive cynic, as it requires so little effort, but really… maybe you shouldn\’t be writing for a movie FAN site if you pretty much have a problem with every popular flick coming out. Stick to covering the navel-gazing, pretentious, and unwatchable flicks that no one else in the world gives a shit about.

I should probably stop enjoying Harry Potter, you\’re right. While I\’m at it I should probably also put down The Iliad and Odyssey, as well as The Tempest, I mean what grown person should pay attention to a story that involves magic anyways? And I should probably be doing the same with anything that has white hat-black hat conflict scenes, come to think of it, Dark Knight had a few of them, it\’s gotta go.

Funny, how Harry Potter is consistently able to bring out the douche bag in attention seeking curmudgeons.

Wow, enough Potter hate, there, folks? You really ought to get over that.

The books have been popular for almost 15 years now, with adults and teenagers as well as kids, and people like seeing their favorite characters up on the screen. It\’s not hard to figure out. I\’m not going to defend the movies as masterpieces, but I think most of them are pretty entertaining, and all of them include a truly spectacular set-piece or two. Considering there doesn\’t seem to have been anything else in theaters that you liked, why begrudge the kids their fun?

Seen Potter today, yeah it was fine but I bet the numbers jump when they re-release in 3D before part 2, because you know it\’s coming. I cant wait to see what the various boring camp sites and a moody Ron Weasley look like in 3D.
