Clooney was good in up in the air because he basically played himself.

He's a movie star. All movie stars play themselves in their movies, over and over again. It's why they're movie stars.

Clooney plays Clooney in all his films. This take is not much considering he is supposed to be such an AList actor. Don't agree with you on him and this film. Takers on the other hand is doing far better than expected.
