And how about the time for The Proposal? It just seems like it was perfectly placed in the summer season against robots and cartoons. $40 million production and a still going strong $113 million box-office. Maybe release dates and counter-programming mean as much as marketing.

Public Enemies should do pretty well once it's released to all of its foreign markets as well. It could make up for just a decent domestic run. And dropping 44% isn't too bad. With Harry Potter being the only blockbuster opening up Enemies might hold really well.

Comparing Ice Age and Up is really interesting too. The three Ice Age movies cost $60, $80 and $90 million respectively, while Up cost $175 million.

You might be right about Enemies, but Taking of Pelham opened to $20 mill opening week and is now at $61 domestic after 4 weeks.

Enemies opened at $25 mill and is now at $66 mill domestic after 2 weeks. The longtail math suggests that time is on their side.

Also if Public Enemies can hit $100 million, which seems mostly doable, the film will still be counted as a loss, but not such an embarrassing one.

Man, those are some pretty good numbers for Ice Age after 2 weeks. It prolly has the legs to hit the $200 million mark.

Funny about Bruno: Niki Finke had "sources" (something scribbled on a bathroom wal) tell her it could go as high as $50 million and then quickly changed the headline to $40 million. I wonder what it changed to now.
