I don't see it as a competition, either the movie will be good or it won't. I'll go see any Marvel or DC movie. I actually used to be more of a DC fan, but Marvel has won me over with their movies. Still, if BvS and CA3 had opened on the same day, I'd go see both. CA first!

To say DC/Warner Bros. is savvy for switching their date when it is clear to everyone else they backed down from a Marvel DC confrontation is idiotic. After reading that line the rest of this article just sounded like DC fanboyism to me. Ben Affleck as Batman is going to be stupid and it sucks because he was so badass in the last three with Bale. Wonder Woman is the first Wonder Woman ever who doesn't actually have any cleavage and not to knock Gal Gadot, but just look at her acting in any of the Fast & Furious movies, muy horrible. Casting is killing Justice League before it even starts. I didn't even mention Ryan Reynolds, and then to hear they are going with Jason Mamoa for Aquaman, has Aquaman ever had dark hair? It is almost like DC just tries to cast popular actors on franchises that are trending now. Marvel won this battle with their casting a long…….long time ago.

I just can't get over the lack of creativity putting Batman against Superman.
First of all, NO CONTEST !!!
Batman=Human ( flesh and bones ) , Superman=indestructible !
Batman=Angry rich kid with a bunch of toys, Superman=fights for peace and justice.
What possible beef would Superman have against Batman or vice versa ?
I will wait for this one on video !

I love that close up picture of Affleck as Batman.

It's like Batman is thinking to himself of what needs to be done, whatever that is it won't be ease and it will be painful.

I doubt that WB announcing multiple release dates has Marvel "looking over their shoulder." WB/DC has bone NOTHING so far to scare anyone but their fans.

if they don't excite people with the story to get word of mouth then it really isn't savvy at all. Man of Steel was good but didn't light the fires that a Superman movie should have and now they are pulling out an old almost ready to retire and closer to Batman Beyond age Batman. I guess they are going that way since they don't expect to keep Affleck in that many movies still it's telling. In the comics the two have roughly been the same age and looked close enough that Bruce Wayne could pass as Clark Kent and visa versa but i guess that is thrown out as well.

it almost feels like they are getting ready to write Batman out of the story not all that long before the universe kicks off. maybe three films before Affleck gets tired of it? if they are lucky.

I think the rise of the superhero movie was a direct response not to the audience's love of superheroes but their love of CG effects. Movies reached a point where they could blow up whole cities — whole planets — which audiences loved, but it was getting harder and harder to plausibly explain why this megaton destruction wasn't killing the film's main characters. Enter the durable superhero; throw him into the crust of the Earth as hard as you want and then blow up New York on top of him and he'll climb out unscathed. Which is great until you've seen New York blow up fifty times. What I'm getting at is that when audiences get their fill of this stuff, the underlying material will suddenly seem as silly to them as it's been from the get-go, and the companies who thought they held rights to beloved characters will need a whole new strategy but quick
