Why oh why is it Oakenfold??? He's always the face of dance culture from Hollywood's perspective, but he's not a great DJ, just a great self promoter (his legendary 'Jesus pose' during his sets back in the day… please). There's Sasha or Nick Warren or a host of others who have deeper and more interesting approaches. just my .02

Paul Oakenfold's music possibly not related with the film itself, but might be used in some specific scenes as background or something, or even as the tunes of the story it just this master director wants his film gets sense of fashion to attract young/club people? It's just like The Nobel Son, used loads of his house music as soundtrack which was nothing much related with that film itself.

I find it hard to believe at this point that these two films (Knight of Cups + Lawless) are not related in some way in character and content.
