Todd Bridges Receives Knighthood
Hopefully everyone has heard The Black Keys latest album Brothers by now. Released last May, the sixth album from this rock duo was something of a breakthrough for them, appearing on countless year end lists as well as in countless commercials. (Their participation in “The Sell-Out-Off” on The Colbert Report with Vampire Weekend was a pretty hilarious way to acknowledge their omnipresence last year.) But despite their straightforward music the Keys have proven themselves to be quite playful when it comes to making music videos. Their latest, for “Howlin’ For You” is no exception.
Trotting out an ensemble cast of B-list stars including Tricia Helfer, Sean Patrick Flanery, Corbin Bernsen, Diora Baird, Christian Serratos, Todd Bridges and snowboarder Shaun White, the clip is a grindhouse-style, faux movie trailer featuring narration like, “Bad guys beware. She’ll bang ‘ya, but then she’ll hang ‘ya.” Despite the fact it’s about 3 ½ years too late on the whole grindhouse thing, the video is really a lot of fun. Director Chris Marrs Piliero, who also helmed their recent vids for “Tighten Up” and “Next Girl,” is on kind of a roll here. Watch the clip below:
