That's a pretty weak trailer and the only performance that really drew me in was Kirsten Dunst. The rest looks either blah or bad. And the book is essentially unfilmable.

Whatever accent Sam Riley is trying to use is not working and Hedlund is about as interesting as white bread.

The less said about Stewart the better, which I guess is why she had no speaking lines.

It looks very good and I can't wait to see it! The direction and cinematography look amazing!

As for the individual who said "Hedlund is about as interesting as white bread" and commented on Kristen Stewart and Sam Riley, I would really like to ask or suggest to not judge until he/she sees the movie. People often have preconceptions about actors after seeing one movie and I think we should give them a chance, maybe they have improved!

I, for one, am very excited!

Looking forward to seeing it BUT the trailer made me think of Twilight without the vampires 🙂 I always imagined that a good movie version of On The Road would be in black and white, and that the actors would be older (i think the real people that the book was based on were in their late 20's/early 30's & older, save for the 16 yr old of course, during the time period covered in the book, not certain, anyway I always imagined them to be older). Anyway, perhaps a flawed OTR movie is better than none, and if it does end up being not so great others can always try to make better versions of it, every 5 or 10 years maybe. The kids look young, but who knows, maybe the movie will be good & will reflect some of the awesomeness (well, as judged by me when I was 18) of the book. OTR might make a good HBO series.

dear lena: Maybe you could help out directors like Walter Salles, Barry Levinson, David Fincher, and Sean Penn to make them see the error of their ways for hiring her. And not just hiring her, but THEN recommending her to other directos. See, David Fincher and Jodie Foster both rec'd her for the They Yellow Hankerchief, Sean penn rec'd her to the director of Welcome to the Rileys. Walter Salles set up a meeting with kristen for OTR right after seeing her in Into the Wild(before Twilight blew up too). So, man, I feel so bad for all these directors, these naive, inexperienced directors who a) hire her for jobs, and then b) offer her up to colleagues after working with her. It would be so helpful to them Lena if you could help them see the error of their ways.

I have never seen twilight so can't speak on her acting ability but one thing I can say is that every frame I saw of Kristen Stewart had a good feeling to it. And part of that is that it's a film by WALTER SALLES.

It's little things about "coming of age", it's a vividly depict about the "Beat Generation", just awesome. And assumed that Garrett Hedlund and Kristen Dunst sparkled during shooting this film.

LOL at these comments. The "Kristen Stewart SUCKS!" people and the "Kristen Stewart is AMAZING" people going at it. I don't see how she deserves to be so polarizing. She seems like a perfectly harmless actor and I really don't see what there is to love or hate about her with a passion. I mean, a lot of people think Keanu Reeves is a bad actor, but they don't go to comment sections to write long spiels about how he's had "more than enough chances" and how disgusted they are that he gets roles. I guess that's because it's currently in fashion to hate Kristen Stewart, because of Twilight and all. It's not really a "hate-bandwagon," though, more of a cultural mood. And as far as loving her, I think she can be good in the right role (Adventureland), but she's not exactly great in anything. Yet. But that's the nature of obsessive fangirling I guess. (maybe I'm wrong…)

I can't believe they make big movie from famous book and give the leading part to the actors who still hm let's say new or "not so experience" ; Sam Riley, Kristen Stewart, and Garrett Hedlund, and they got cover from big name actors like Viggo Mortensen, Amy Adams, Kirsten Dunst, Terrence Howard, and Steve Buscemi who have more "experience" and credibility… I'm gonna watch the movies for the awesome supporting actors not for that three leading character..

What a sorry set some of you are. Have you read the book? Just remember that the movie is an interpretation of the book. A movie is not a book. Just look again at One Flew Over the CuckooÂ´s Nest and try to remember the shock of difference. The book is a first person story told by the Chief, the Indian. Not in the movie, but still it is a masterpiece of moviemaking. IÂ´m really looking forward to this movie. It can only be an interpretation of the book. So hold your horses.

This looks really great.. and stop making sucha fuss over Kristen Stewart…. I'm sure she'll not ruin the movie since Marylou is barely there in the book.. I've never watched a Twilight film but I do know it's reputation…. and saying that she can't act judging from just one idiotic franchise is really wrong… I've only watched "Panic Room", "Adventureland" and "Welcome to the Rileys" with her on them…. and I thought they all were pretty great.. don't know what's with everyone just mindlessly hating her! Do you guys think hating on someone is really cool or what?
