One big this that this article skips is the difference between projection and production. Of course film will die by 2015, as a projection medium. But will it die as a production medium, maybe. But I think it will take al lot longer then 4 years. And I think this documentary addresses both the issues. Maybe ever more so the production aspect then the projection and thus, distribution.

Damn……I gotta see this! Looks very interesting and as a film buff this movie is pretty fucking important…..I love film….but I also love the work that can be done with digital cameras and the (slight) ease that comes with it….to be honest…to choose between film and digital is a lot like asking me to choose between a Mac and a PC…..I choose both…mainly because I'm a greedy bastard! Hey! There's nothing wrong with Lena Dunham!

Excited about this, though I wish Michael Mann were featured (but at least they got his Miami Vice and Collateral cinematographer); Elswit or PTA would've been nice too. Nolan has nothing to offer this debate if he's just going to get 'scientistic' and talk about film as a "superior … imaging technology" without even defining what the hell that means — I could respect his opinion if he'd just come out and say "I prefer the way film looks" instead of pretending to objectivity
