This is so not the book. In it, we never see the husband. He’s dead before it starts. There’s no adultery scenes, no motorbike scenes. And then the thing she later finds in her house, isn’t at all what this trailer suggests it is. There’s no need to be slavish but, in the same breath, why bother adapting a book if you’re going to chuck it all out for starters?
