The essay infers from the film that we are not in control, and things happen likely for no reason and have no purpose, hence cause and effect can be disregarded as an affective way of interpreting and \’pinning down\’ the world, but this isn\’t fatalistic, fatalistic suggests reason and importance to events, but reasons that are simply outside of human control or understanding.
