It "looks" cliche' and typical. The overall design is a meh. I'm not judging the actual film, I'm just talking about the trailer. The teaser was so much much better.

I don't understand why everyone has jumped onto the pixar hate band wagon. Yes they made one film that wasn't on Parr with other pixar films, it was still better than most Dreamworks films. Besides no one has even seen this films, so how can you say that it is bad? I'm going to wait until I actually see the movie until I judge on whether it's cliched or not.

Pixar trailers never live up to the actual movie. Regardless, I agree that this one has a little too much silliness and reminded me a bit of How to Train Your Dragon. But I also thought it was gorgeous and am there seems to be hints at a much deeper plot that we really don't see at all here–which is good. I am very much looking forward to it.

Looks gorgeous but the story/ themes are completely cliche'd and show no growth on Pixar's part as storytellers – if anything, it looks like they're getting worse.

I really like the tone of it. Feels grounded, real, almost like if it was a live action movie.

Maybe that says more about DreamWorks than Pixar?

Nevertheless, I'm still not sure I know what this story's actually ABOUT.

Eh, I dunno. Ugly character designs, some cheap gags and a fairly tired story. Isn't it just Mulan in Scotland? McMulan? Looks more like a DreamWorks animation.
