This trailer is bad. Like I\’ve made a point to say in the past regarding this film, I don\’t care about whether the cast is female or not or even if it\’s going to ruin the memories I have of the original so that\’s not factoring into my opinion of this trailer. What does factor in though is that someone cut this trailer together and thought that it did the best job to sell the movie to people (a large number of which were already surly about it for one reason or another). Whoever was responsible for the trailer needs a real wake up call.

I don\’t have any issue with the female switch on the characters [in fact, Wiig and McCarthy are so comedy badass, and I love the adopted look from the cartoon\’s for the character of Kate McKinnon], in fact I didn\’t like the sequel back then in my 12\’s… I have problems with Paul Feig. I don\’t like his kind of self-congratulatory too long comedy style. I\’m not interested in this movie. PS: The fan made trailer is better. Very.

It just looks lazy. I think we can put The Exorcist references to bed. SNL, Scary Movie 2, The Simpsons, and the god-awful Repossessed already made those jokes, for better or worse. That they\’re showing extended pop culture references as highlights is concerning. Cast is good (besides maybe Hemsworth who I\’m sick of seeing show up in comedies) but not sure they\’re being used well here.
