I would like to know how true this movie stays to the Biblical account? Or has it been "hollywoodized" like Noah was?

Ridley can be a visual genius, but you do have to question the casting. Looking at the photos, Bale looks to be the most miscast, even more so than Edgerton. At least Paul Newman was half Jewish.

Joel Edgerton has nothing to be ashamed of. Laurence Olivier played a marvelous Othello. Linda Hunt was a wonderful Billy Kwan. A good actor can play any nationality, race or even gender, and it is their job as actors to make us believe they are people completely unlike themselves.

I feel they are whitwashing the bible, even depict the Jesus as a white man. The sphinx has a European shaped noes, african leaders are played by white people but the slaves are black.

This movie looks phenomenal, both visually and such an astoundingly stellar cast. Not sure why the writer is so pissy about the film, perhaps he was snubbed for an interview request and has an axe to grind? Not cool, Playlist.

For what it's worth, the hair scientists at L'Oreal analyzed a lock of hair from the mummy of Ramses II (i.e. the Joel Edgerton character) and found that he was Caucasian, with "reddish-blond" hair. And the film has quite a few actors of Iraqi, Syrian, Palestinian, Iranian and Indian descent, etc. They're just not as famous as Bale and company (except for Ben Kingsley, who is half-Indian himself).

You can harp on the film for the whitewashing and Scott's record but the footage is NOT underwhelming by any means to me. It looks grand and epic.
