Mads is the consummate version of Hannibal Lector. When I think of Lector, I no longer think of Anthony Hopkins or Brian Cox, Mads IS Hannibal, through and through! This has been truly one of the best shows on NBC and I mourn its passing, but I hope it will be picked up by someone….The cast is outstanding, the sweries has been shot beautifully and there is nothing else that I could compare it to, it is it\’s own beast!

Because of a deal with Amazon who had the rights to the show because of the deal with the producers to air the episodes a they aired, netflix was mentioned as not being available. However, since they passed it clearly was available then. Sad because it is hands down the best television show since Breaking Bad ended. Mikkelsen is light years better than Hopkins\’s Hannibal, not as much camp but real acting. Gonna miss this show bigtime.

Amazon likely passed because of the cost…which is likely why NBC bowed out. Ratings have never been what they expected, but IIRC they loved the show and tried to keep it alive (like Constantine). Hannibal brought more critical acclaim, but there comes a point where NBC had to make a financial decision, and Amazon probably can\’t afford it.

Such a shame that Hannibal has been cancelled after just 3 seasons. Yes the show can be a little jarring and confusing at times but I feel that it works in the shows favour and helps to elevate the psychotic madness that\’s taking place. I hope (wish) that the show get\’s a stay of execution or another network picks it up, wishful thinking I know. The show is too good to just be discarded of.

PDZOMBIE… of course Netflix is going to pass. Amazon has the exclusive streaming rights to previous seasons through 2017. Netflix would only have the rights to the "current" season, and once that ends, it would revert to Amazon.

Maybe I\’m in the minority, but I\’d have no issue with Clarice being left out completely (if they ever do continue the story in some form). They have already included many of her scenes from the books and movies along with having a character similar to her (Miriam Lass), and it surprisingly works without her.

No surprise Amazon wasn\’t interested, what have they done? But Netflix passed??? I guess exfunny man Adam Sandler is good enough for them but not one of the best series at the moment. Ellen Page would make a great Clarice, but I would hate if they have to reboot everything. Who knew that one day you could actually say, I prefer the movie to the book, but I prefer the tv series to either both of them.
