Well, I love Finding Forrester, respect the Psycho remake, and include Gerry in my all-time tops. The joy critics seem to take in junping on Van Sant is frustrating to me as he\’s taken some of the most intereting risks of any American narratice filmmaker over the past 25 years. Even his messiest films are interesting to me. The fact that critics can\’t focus on what was worthy in the Psycho remake is especially disappointing.

Looking forward to seeing this. Critics now love to hate Van Sant, but I\’d see this for McConaughey and Watanabe alone. Especially poignant given the sad news about Watanabe\’s health.

Finding Forester is such a cheap remake of Goodwill Hunting. So bad, you\’re nuts. That said, yes, Gerry rules.

I think Gus Van Sant is a talented filmmaker, but there\’s a strong DSLR quality feel to the cinematography, at least based on the trailer. Some YouTube Canon tutorial videos look more expensive than this trailer.

Finding Forester is pretty good pop stuff, and even Van Sant thinks Psycho was a failed experiment. But Gerry is a complete masterpiece.
