Watch: Marion Cotillard & Matthias Schoenaerts Discuss Money In New Clip From ‘Rust And Bone’

nullIf there's any justice in this fall festival season, "Rust And Bone" will be a major player. But with France submitting the much more old-people-pleasing "The Intouchables" as their official selection, it will make the climb all the more uphill for Jacques Audiard's latest. But come February, if Marion Cotillard at least manages to squeak out a nomination we'll be happy (we'd love one for Matthias Schoenaerts too, but that's not gonna happen).

With the film headed to theaters after premiering in Cannes this spring, a new clip has landed that serves as a great display of both the chemistry the leads bring to the picture, and the lovely, raw relationship they portray on the screen. In this scene Cotillard's Stephanie is curious why Schoenaert's Alain takes part in bare-knuckle boxing matches, and the latter is annoyed by the line of questioning. But the biggest take away from this snippet for folks who haven't seen the film, is how refreshingly blase Alain is about Stephanie's disability (she's a whale trainer at a marine park who loses her legs in a horrific accident). He refuses to let it be any kind of issue between them, while the meat of their story involves the larger push and pull of the expectations of their unlikely, fledgling union.

As you might have heard in our latest podcast, the film is a big favorite this year for the editors of The Playlist. And we highly recommend you give it a shot when it opens on November 23rd. Watch below and check out three more clips here
