I mean essentially anybody can just turn the saturation on the TV down to see it in simple B&W, but that doesn\’t mean that\’s how the filmmaker intended it.

have to agree with Doot — Miller and Eric Whipp would never put out such a basic conversion. This looks pretty flat and uninspired. Still curious to see what the real filmmakers would do with a BW version though…

It\’s a neat trick, but as far as I can see here it\’s just a trick. I mean the movie would need a complete re-calibration/color-grading by a pro; including some contrast tweaking here and there. It shouldn\’t just be about "taking off the color". Finally Miller\’s idea to actually use color to find a way to somehow desaturate the movie still seems much more interesting.
