The "meta" message here is ironic, a franchise formula over artistic potential. How these producers took somewhat interesting books and made incredibly average, uninspired films that are entirely forgettable. This didn\’t need to be the case.
They cast extremely well, that alone saved this mess.

Because if a sequel doesn\’t make more than its predecessor, it\’s considered a flop, according to Hollywood logic. The same reasoning is used to say that Avengers: Age of Ultron is a flop.

"But as “Mockingjay—Part 1” showed at the box-office, if you’re just delaying the inevitable and prolonging your story simply for financial gain and without much narrative rhyme or reasons, this plan can backfire." What? This line makes no sense as Mockingjay – Part 1 was the highest grossing film at the box office for 2014, and made back its entire budget in one weekend, so I\’m not sure how it \’backfired\’ lol?

Mockingjay Part 1 was the first truly interesting, challenging film in the series for me; the first was exactly as I expected (B-), the second a high quality retread (B). Mockingjay shocked me by using the simplistic teen-pleasing story of the first 2 to power it\’s own statement: what you\’ve been watching is baloney, and you are all being manipulated — the product is you — turning the series into an actual forceful political statement that wasn\’t simply about modern warfare (Iraq war motifs galore in this film), but about media itself. I\’ve never seen a film so consciously meta that wasn\’t being snarky — Mockingjay cares for its. That teens didn\’t feel satisfied with it didn\’t surprise me, but I was very disappointed with grown up critics who, for the most part, were so anticipating the standard YA self-empowerment plot that they missed one of the most powerful films of the year. I\’m sure part 2 will return to it\’s predictable action roots, but at least it will carry the critique of part one with it — inevitably making it a closer relative of the last act of Kaufman\’s "Adaptation" than a sci-fi Twilight knockoff.

I can\’t wait. I\’ve read all the books at least 3 to 4 times. I knowwhat is coming and I like to test myself on it. It\’s a great story about a young lady that\’s out there to win. Good for her
