Last week, The Lonely Island debuted the trailer for their upcoming "Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping" which offered a look at the movie in full, red band glory. Now, they are taking a slightly tamer, but no less funny route with the green band, office friendly trailer which highlights new scenes and more from the upcoming comedy.
Written by The Lonely Island, and directed by Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone (who also star), Andy Samberg leads the movie as Conner4Real, who is the subject of the mock-doc look at his life and the people around him. Here’s the official synopsis:
Universal Pictures’ Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping is headlined by musical digital-shorts superstars Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone, collectively known as The Lonely Island. The comedy goes behind the scenes as singer/rapper Conner4Real (Samberg) faces a crisis of popularity after his sophomore album flops, leaving his fans, sycophants and rivals all wondering what to do when he’s no longer the dopest star of all.
Co-starring Imogen Poots, Sarah Silverman, Tim Meadows and Maya Rudolph, "Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping" opens on June 3rd.
