That said, the rest of the trailer, the cast, the cinematography, etc… all look so bloody marvelous that this film looks like it could very easily make very trope and cliche in the book feel fresh and exciting.

In short, I have a woody for this movie right now. Also, it\’s nice to see Gary Oldman in a non-villan role. I\’ve loved his villains but as Gordon, he\’s showed such strong potential to play a leading role and a good guy that I\’ve longed to see something like this happen for him.

I will forever remember him best as Jean-Baptise. Emmanuel. Zorg. though.

Now the trailer is being cut to the \”Bram Stoker\’s Dracula\”-inspired score from \”The Wolfman\”.

I\’ve never read Le Carre\’s novel, but I did see the Alec Guinness miniseries about a decade ago. I guess my memory of it is foggy as I have no clue what\’s going on in the trailer aside from \”there\’s a mole!\”.

I like the music. But frankly it looks like a cheap British made-for-tv deal. And when a character in a spy movie has to utter the shop worn \”things aren\’t always what they seem\”, that pretty much kills any hope I had that the picture will be genius.
