Looks cool. Not perfect, but it doesn't have to be perfect to be cool. Plus, the zombies are CGI for a reason. There's a specific and original idea behind the way they look, and it'd be near-impossible to do it with real people, so, as a viewer, I would tend to give leeway.

Looks gritty in the way that real things are stake, but also, pretty generic. The CGI zombies dont belong in the movie they're trying to make. That's the problem.

Well… I was really looking forward to seeing this movie up until I saw this. The CGI looked pretty bad and what's worse is that the dialog sounded almost as bad as in Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Aside from the title and the fact that there were zombies in this movie (Not anything like the zombies in the book) I didn't see much that could be considered to be based off of the novel. Not only will we have waited an additional six months for this to be released, we're probably going to get an over budgeted B movie with a script comparable to what most Film C students would be able to produce. Ah well, I guess most movies that have come out recently have kind of sucked so I shouldn't have had my hopes so high.

Running zombies = the lazy way to generate excitement from the living dead. George A. Romero's rules were followed pretty faithfully by Max Brooks in his two books (Zombie Survival Guide & World War Z), and the Walking Dead's Romeroesque zombies are a serious threat even though they shamble and shuffle rather than sprinting. Though the Walking Dead uses CGI to augment practical effects, they sometimes do have full CGI zombie extras, but they are used sparingly and, within the scope of the show (and basic physics), realistically. I don't see how muddy, blurry (perhaps incomplete) CGIcandy can be effective… Having seen the trailer, the shots of these Plan B zombies (for lack of a better term) look unrealistic as fluid waves of figures run roughshod and wash over what appears to be a bus, run up (what appears to be) a drainpipe and create what amounts to a human ladder to scale up a wall… I'm just not buying the running zombies, but I am thrilled to see the wide scope of the zombie apocalypse they're portraying (always a big fan of early zombie apocalypse scenarios when the shit really hits the fan and the dead overtake humanity because of our lack of cooperation)… the aerial shots look impressive, but again, how much CGIcandy can an audience take before they're numb to it? Lastly, the film is PG-13, and though they'll probably go for the kind of weak R, mostly bloodless violence that films within that rating usually portray, I doubt it will come even close to the kind of gore-filled bloodletting that people witness on AMC… anything less will disappoint fans of the genre.

And my opinions are confirmed with many of the comments below. B Pitt is def miscast here. I just have trouble buying it…Not truthful enough for me. And I think that maybe y the production of the film was so troubled b/c the filmmakers saw that as well (but obvi it was too late)…. He most likely did it for the fat paycheck… I dont really see a heart in this film either the family dynamic seems really weak. Im still at a toss up tho so ALL is not lost

This looks so boring and the VFX zombies look really budget. No wonder this film has had so many problems if that's the best trailer they can produce. Using similar music/sirens to Inception and Prometheus' trailers has only reenforced how inferior it is.

The CGI looks terrible, almost as if it were using the same cartoony looking characters from the Left 4 Dead video game. Very unappealing.
