After Rango, Gore Verbinski+Johnny Depp+Western shouldn't be questioned, this is far more distinctive looking than I expected though, in terms of the visual style.

It looks amazing. It looks huge and adventurous. It looks like a billion dollar movie. Disney has a winner on its hands. People need to stop complaining about Johnny in face paint. You don't tell Marilyn Monroe to stop being sexy, or John Wayne stop doing Westerns. This is Johnny's zone. This is why he is a Superstar.

I'm tired of actors like Depp phoning it in. Thank god the industry is starting to see its brilliant original actors like Cumberbatch thats the future. Not ones that recycle the same old rubbish.

Wasn't expecting much but this looks pretty fantastic. I like how they are going to focus on the railroad. Great cast and Wilkinson sounds great even if we can't see him..wonder why they didn't mention Helena Bonham-Carter though? Maybe her role is small?

If this movie is even a "little" as good as the last Depp/Verbinski collaboration, Rango, then "Lone Ranger" might be a classic!!

i've always considered Verbinski to be a very competent, at times underrated, filmmaker. but i'm afraid for this considering all of disneys recent live action stuff.
