It stands to reason, given that the other proposed Star Wars Stories connect to characters in the Saga (Han Solo, Boba Fett) so why would Rogue One be wholly about people not in the Saga? The reveal won\’t come till Episode 8 as Rogue One will conclude long, long before Rey could have been conceived, but I bet that\’s what they\’re doing here.

It doesn\’t look cheap exactly, but it does have a "going through the motions", premium TV vibe. It was probably a mistake to go with a second female protagonist. That just looks like a big FU to the male nerd base that stuck with the series through 3 catastrophic Lucas prequels and Abrams serviceable rainbow coalition relaunch. I guess the boys will have to settle for the Boba Fett series while Disney works through it\’s warrior princess issues.

And is it just me, or does Jones battle armor in the last shot look like she just stepped off the "Hunger Games" set…
