With a reported budget of $90 million, producer Harvey Weinstein and Netflix are bringing massive scope and scale to "Marco Polo," in what they surely hope will become a binge-watch, must-see event. The first trailer is here to show you where all that money went. In short, it paid for sex and spectacle.
Joachim Ronnin and Espen Sandberg ("Kon-Tiki," "Pirates Of The Caribbean 5") are behind the camera for the first few episodes of a show detailing the famed explorer’s time in the Kublai Khan ruled 13th century China. And that means lots of sweeping vista, writhing naked bodies, fights and more. The trailer has a lot of eye candy, but we’re still not sure what the story might be. But we’ll find out soon enough when the show hits Netflix in December.
