Couple of things. This is not based on the Broadway Musical that ran for 777 performances, the musical has not had a revival since closing on Broadway (just a touring life) and Carrie the Musical is reopening Off Broadway in January

I\’m guessing that I\’m the only person in this chain that has SEEN this movie at a test screening. Guess what haters …? The new \”Footloose\” is GREAT! The audience loved it straight up and now people who know nothing about the film are making critical comments based on a trailer?! Trust me, the fact that everyone, regardless of intent, intelligence, or ability, can hate on a trailer of a film is MUCH more alarming than the fact that we are doing remakes. Remakes have been going on since the beginning of film, idiots publishing their opinions just because they can is new – and much more alarming than this sweet movie.

It is just sad the Hollywood is so lacking in originality now
that it has to start remaking 80\’s movies –
it doesn\’t seem like all that long ago when I saw the original Footloose in the theater and it is now in my DVD collection –
I have no need or desire to see the remake.

can hardly wait to see this movie. They made it \’today, 2011.\’
It visits the old movie but brings on some new contemporary elements. I think it\’s a great mixture.
