It was started in the Iron Man films and has been a way to cleverly preview upcoming characters or villans. Agents of Shield is another vehicle to that same end, but with less budget. I think if you have a franchise and you are comitted to it, then every studio should be willing to do it. I for one enjoy it immensely!
