All of the choices seem expected and obvious. Streisand seems to being delivering a rote "jewish mom" routine. The script is charming but no one seems to be bringing anything but the most cliched, lazy, barely passable read to the lines. On paper at least, the Streisand character had ShirleyMaclaine/"Terms of Endearment" potential. But if THIS is the scene that marketing chose to whet the appetite, how bad must the rest of it be. I would love to be able to say this looks good, but it doesn't.

I predict unkind reviews.
