It is a risk whenever a work in progress is shown. I love Jesse L. Martin. He is charismatic and incredibly talented. But the entire time I was watching the footage, I never felt as if he transformed into the role or captured Marvin.

Maybe they released the footage to get someone interested in financing what's left for them to shoot? Other than the "I'm Marvin Gaye" line and the scope, which looks really small, the footage seems good.
