The things is, this movie had potential. You can even see it shining through at points, especially those involving Oa, SInestro, and all the space-opera-y stuff. If they got a different team together, I could see them doing something pretty decent with Reynolds still in the lead. But for that, I would get an entirely different writing team--because the script for this was godawful.

The Justice League thing is weird because they seem to want it to be a kiddie franchise. They want a live action cartoon, with a cast of very young no names. The individual character franchises were supposed to be the grown up movies, darker, more character exploration, more respected actors, etc. Except now the separate franchises seem to be failing. Bale is gone after the next Bat movie. Can\'t get Wonder Woman off the ground. Superman II Returns Again, looks like a mess. I think they should abandon this idea of JL as a kiddie franchise. Let it reboot everything instead. Intro new characters and new respectable actors in the roles, then spin everyone off into their own movies.

indiewire\'s faithful cynical asshole view to mainstream cinema shows no peak.

What people claim they want and what they willingly choose time and time again is clearly evident by the box office(nevermind global) takings for the movies \"the internet\" hates.

But whatever, all i know that a movie like super8 isnt the intelligent, deep, original(really?!) game-changer that would convince people to see something different this summer.
