Yeah, we know. Not exactly the most obvious pairing, but since both movies are about war and because we're feeling a bit of Thanksgiving laziness settling in, this is how we're gonna roll on this one okay? Deal. New posters have popped up for the war-centric films "In the Land of Blood and Honey" and "This Means War."
First up, we suppose blood is sexier than honey (though some might disagree) as a couple get silhouetted in the red stuff in the first poster for Angelina Jolie's upcoming directorial debut. Starring Zana Marjanović (”Snow”), Rade Šerbedžija (”Snatch”) and Goran Kostic (”Taken”), the film is a romantic drama about the troubled relationship between a Muslim woman and a Serbian man in the midst of the Bosnian war. This one will be headed to theaters in its Bosnian/Croation/Serbian language iteration, which should piss off the Moms who watch "Entertainment Tonight," but given the subject matter and setting, it's the right choice. How it will factor in the Oscar race or not is yet to be determined, but this one does looking promising. Its awards qualifying run will kick off on December 23rd with a wider released planned for 2012.
Meanwhile, standing no chance of winning anythiung, except maybe a Razzie, everything about "This Means War" continues to underwhelm. A one sheet for the film has landed that merely confirms Tom Hardy, Reese Witherspoon and Chris Pine star in this thing. The long-in-development movie is directed by McG (red alert!) and follows the tale of two CIA agents who fight over the same girl, going to extreme methods to win her over. And yeah, it looks about as dumb as it sounds. It opens on February 17, 2012. Full posters below. [Yahoo/ComingSoon]
