All this is strange… Malick may not be that passionate about VoT after all or he would have dedicated his time on working on it once he finished Tree of Life in 2010 and not start working on not just one but 3 new projects! It's possible that for some reason he just lost interest in VoT and thus can't force himself to finish it.
Now it seems quite clear that his mind is on KoC and the Untitled.

Voyage of Time is in post-production (and no I'm not just going off IMDb). Maybe this suit gums up the works and delays the release like what went on with Tree of Life, but the film won't go unmade.
